NEW DELHI: The Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party found common ground today when it was reported that several electronic voting machines (EVM) at the Delhi civic poll election booths weren't working.
A Maharashtra Congress leader Shehzad Poonawalla, cited and replied to a quote by an AAP sympathizer, which talked about "faulty EVMS.". AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal then retweeted Poonawalla's tweet, in which he came up with an interesting version of what EVM stands for - 'Extremely Vulnerable Machines.'

Kejriwal, too, couldn't but help talk about it.

After all, former Delhi minister and BJP leader Arvind Singh Lovely could not cast his vote this morning as there were some problems in the EVMs at a polling booth, PTI reported.
"I reached the polling station at 8 AM. However, I could not vote as the EVM was not working so I had to leave due to some urgent work. I will go later to cast my vote," Lovely said.
The BJP has been battling allegations of "EVM fraud" since the results of the recent five Assembly polls were announced last month. The first politician to allege such "fraud" was BSP chief Mayawati, after which the Congress, AAP and the SP have joined the chorus.

In fact, Delhi chief minister Kejriwal yesterday told a news agency he fears "5 to 10 per cent" EVM tampering in Delhi's civic polls.
"One, pre-2006 EVMs without security features are being used in Delhi; two, these EVMs have no VVPATs; three, the EVMs are coming from Rajasthan (where he said EVMs were tampered with)," the AAP chief told IANS.
It's an allegation he's made before.
"We did not make these allegations earlier when BJP won in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. In the last four months, evidence is emerging of tampering... from Pune, Bhind, Dholpur, Punjab, UP," he told IANS
Kejriwal added the Election Commission's refusal to hold an independent investigation into any allegation had only increased the suspicion about EVMs.
