Renowned artist Manohar Devadoss passes away in Chennai

CHENNAI: A well known artist and Padma Shri awardee Manohar Devadoss passed away in Chennai on Wednesday morning. He was 86.
Devadoss was diagnosed with Retinitis pigmentosa when he was in his 30s but did not let his deteriorating eyesight deter him from his passion for art.
The artist went completely blind at the age 83 but continued his work.
He lived in Santhome Chennai.

Devadoss was born on September 10, 1936, in Madurai. He had a flair for drawing heritage buildings, which is what he was best known for.
His wife Mahima (who passed away in 2008) and he both contributed to the non-profit Sankara Nethralaya Eye Hospital.
