MADURAI: The Madurai bench of Madras high court on Monday directed the Karambakudi police in Pudukottai district to register a complaint lodged by one K Balakrishnan, father of a domestic help of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa, if a prima facie case has been made out in it.
Stating that his daughter Rubica has been working as domestic help in Poes Garden for the last five years, the petitioner Balakrishnan said that some anti-social elements had attacked him demanding crores of rupees.
On December 1, when he went to Puthupatti to pay chit fund money, a group of persons intercepted him, took him to Kollaikadu village and detained him in a house, where he was brutally attacked by them, he said.
He further said that he had faced a similar situation on earlier occasions too. Though he had lodged a complaint then, there was no action on their part.
