PUNE: The Met department has forecast rain or thundershowers for another day in Pune on Thursday due to a combination of several weather phenomena, which have been causing rain in November.
Though Shivajinagar station recorded 0.6 mm rain on Wednesday, the
Lohegaon station recorded a good spell of 14 mm. Shivajinagar, Lohegaon, Satara and Solapur were the only major
IMD stations that recorded rain in the state on Wednesday, with Lohegaon getting the maximum share.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast some rain for south
Madhya Maharashtra, including Pune, on Thursday too. “A combination of weather systems—the anti-cyclone in central parts of the country, moisture from the easterly wave and a trough along the west coast— have been causing the rains. Add to this the high temperature which is causing local convection,” a weather bureau official said.
