200 litre of foreign brand liquor seized in Bihar’s Madhubani

Police seized 200 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) in a raid at a house in Belahi village of Bihar's Madhubani district. The seized alcohol was packed in bottles of different sizes which were kept in cartons;the person has been taken into custody in accordance with new Excise Act, 2016.

MADHUBANI: Police seized 200 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) in a raid at a house in Belahi village of Bihar's Madhubani district, on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided house of one Ajay Thakur in the village under Pandaul police station area and seized about 200 litre of foreign brand liquor, Superintendent of Police Jitendra Prakash said.
The seized alcohol was packed in bottles of different sizes which were kept in cartons, the SP said, adding Thakur has been taken into custody in accordance with new Excise Act, 2016.

After imposition of total prohibition in Bihar from April 5, 2016, the police and excise department officials are conducting raids to find out liquor stocked illegally and also prosecuting those violating the ban order.
