Traffic curbs on NH 5 & 9 for 'Bhavani Deeksha'

In view of concluding ceremony of Bhavani Deeksha, police announced traffic diversions on national highways 5 and 9 passing through Vijayawada.The restrictions will be in place from December 23 to 26.

VIJAYAWADA: In view of concluding ceremony of Bhavani Deeksha, police announced traffic diversions on national highways 5 and 9 passing through Vijayawada. The restrictions will be in place from December 23 to 26.
According to city police commissioner B Srinivasulu, vehicles going to Hyderabad from Chennai will have to take diversion near Medarametla in Prakasam district and travel through Addanki, Miryalaguda and Narkatpally.
Similarly, Chennai-bound vehicles from Hyderabad should go through Narkatpally and Chilakaluripet.
Vehicles going to Kolkata from Hyderabad should take diversion near Suryapet in Nalgonda district on NH 9 and pass through Khammam, Aswaraopet and Devarapalli, and join NH 5 at Nidadavolu in WG district.
Vehicles from Visakhapatnam and Eluru would be diverted at Gannavaram and would have go via Mailavaram to reach Hyderabad. No vehicle would be allowed on ghat road to Indrakeeladri.
