Due to the severe cyclonic storm Bulbul, I have decided to postpone my North Bengal visit in the coming week. Instead of tomorrow, I would take an aerial survey of the affected areas around Namkhana and Bakkhali. Later, I would take a meeting at Kakdwip with the administration to review the relief and rehabilitation measures of the cyclone-affected people. A woman was killed and two others sustained injuries after a tree uprooted by high-speed winds fell over their makeshift house in North 24 Parganas on Sunday. Another man died in a separate incident in Basirhat city, located near the bank of Ichamati River.The mishaps took place in the morning today.
