LUCKNOW: An ad hoc computer operator in Sidhauli block office of Sitapur was arrested on Saturday for an offensive post against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media.
Police said Awadesh Chaudhary was arrested as “the post would have led to riots”. On December 31, Chaudhary had made a derogatory post on Twitter on the caste and religion of the PM, said SHO Sidhauli, Ram Prakash.
“When a group led by Ram Mohan, also a Vishwa Hindu Parishad member, tried to dissuade Chaudhary from removing the post, he abused them verbally,” the SHO said.

The group lodged a complaint against him at Sidhauli police station. “Chaudhary also abused the cops who went to arrest him,” Prakash said.
Chaudhary has been booked under charges of deliberately provoking to cause rioting, criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt.
