Tirupati MP Balli Durga Prasad Rao dies of Covid-19

Tirupati MP Balli Durgaprasad Rao (64) who was infected with the novel coronavirus recently and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai for multiple health ailments, suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away on Wednesday.

TIRUPATI: Tirupati MP Balli Durga Prasad Rao (64) who was infected with the novel coronavirus recently and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai for multiple health ailments, suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away on Wednesday.
Hailing from a sleepy village Bhimavaram in Nayudupet mandal of Nellore district, Balli Durga Prasad got elected from the Gudur assembly seat in Nellore district for the first time in 1985, went on to serve the people of the Gudur constituency four times.
He was made a cabinet minister during N Chandrababu Naidu's tenure as the chief minister of the united state of Andhra Pradesh between 1996-98.
Post the bifurcation of the state of Andhra Pradesh, Balli Durga Prasad switched over to the YSR congress party and was nominated to contest the Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency in the 2019 general elections, which he won successfully.
Chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy expressed shock over the sudden demise of his party MP Balli Durga Prasad Rao. Chief minister personally called up the family members of the deceased MP and expressed his deep-felt condolences.
TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy, Tirupati legislator Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, government whip Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy too expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
