Arvind Kejriwal to launch AAP's 2019 Lok Sabha campaign on Sunday

Arvind Kejriwal to launch AAP's 2019 Lok Sabha campaign on Sunday
NEW DELHI: CM Arvind Kejriwal will launch Aam Aadmi Party's 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign from Sunday by going from door to door to seek votes, donations and to tell people why should they vote only for the AAP candidates in the general elections. “Huge door to door campaign will start tomorrow. We will reach out to every voter and explain why they should vote for AAP and not for BJP and how voting for Congress in Delhi will mean voting for BJP.
We will also ask for donations from each voter,” Kejriwal stated on Twitter.
The CM is likely to literally knock on the doors of the citizens during the campaign which will be started by Kejriwal in New Delhi assembly constituency which he represents in the Delhi Assembly. Along with Kejriwal, all ministers, MPs, MLAs, councilors, party office bearers will also launch the campaign in different parts of the city.
The party will appeal to the people of Delhi to donate any amount which they like ranging from Rs 100, Rs 1,000 or Rs 10,000 every month for AAP. During the interactions, Kejriwal is likely to explain in detail to the people why they should vote for AAP candidates.
“The important element of this campaign is to expose the seven BJP MPs who were elected from Delhi in 2014 and why it is important to have seven AAP MPs representing Delhi in the Lok Sabha. Party volunteers will ask the people to compare the performance of seven BJP MPs with that of the AAP government,” the party said in a statement.
Apart from the chief minister all party functionaries and workers would hardsell cheap electricity in Delhi, free water, major improvement in Delhi government schools, the prohibition in fee hike in private schools, the establishment of mohalla clinics and free treatment in Delhi government hospitals among other works of the AAP government to urge people to vote for AAP. In the backdrop of all this, they will compare the role of the seven BJP MPs. “They will ask people to recall if any of the seven BJP MPs have done anything for them? They will also tell the people that not only these MPs failed to even go to the people but on the contrary, they tried to obstruct every single pro-people work of the Kejriwal government,” AAP said in a statement.
AAP will tell people that if all seven MPs were of AAP, the Delhi government would have been in a stronger position and would have delivered more. AAP will strongly raise the issue of metro fare hike and sealing during the campaign.
“They will also explain to people that since the AAP government has been honest and did not seek cuts from contractors for AAP, the party has no funds. BJP and Congress get corporate funding and therefore they work for them. AAP runs from funds provided by common people and that is why we think and work only for the people. Had AAP governemnt also taken money through such ways, it would not have been able to work so well for the people,” an AAP functionary said. With this explanation, CM and other AAP functionaries will appeal to people to donate for AAP.
