2 women held for poaching in Sariska

The Sariska reserve authorities on Saturday arrested two women on charges of poaching birds and animals in the protected forest area.The women were produced in a court that sent them to judicial custody.

ALWAR: The Sariska reserve authorities on Saturday arrested two women on charges of poaching birds and animals in the protected forest area. The women were produced in a court that sent them to judicial custody.
Police officials said that the women used guns to kill the birds and animals and then sold the meat to buyers in Jaipur and other places.
They are looking for a man who used to help the accused women.
Ranger Bablu Meena said that a woman Vimla Bawaria, resident of Kanshar Kishangarh, was detained while she was travelling in a bus. During interrogation, she told the forest officials that another women, Prahladi Bawaria, was also a member of the poaching gang. Prahladi was also arrested. The forest department officers seized carcasses of nearly 13 animals including rabbits and four birds.
"The carcasses were sent for a post-mortem examination. It came up that the birds and animals were shot down. Pellets were extracted from the carcases. During interrogation, we have come to know that a gang involving some other persons may involved in poaching inside the protected forest area of Sariska reserve," said the officer.
The officer added that the gang used to sell meat and other animal parts like skin to people in Jaipur and some other places.
"We are trying to identify the buyers also," said the officer.
