Amarinder Singh on Sidhu's allegations: He knows nothing, talks too much
NEW DELHI: Ahead of the state polls next year, former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh on Wednesday announced that he will form a new political party.
"Yes, I will be forming a new party. The name will be announced once the Election Commission clears it, along with the symbol. My lawyers are working on it," he said.
On entering an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Amarinder said that he has not talked to the BJP or Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa's party Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) as yet but they would want to have a seat-sharing.

"We have got many people with us, we will fight all 117 seats, we will have plenty of Congressmen coming in," he added.
Delivered more than 90 per cent of the promises during my tenure
Captain Amarinder Singh while addressing media in Chandigarh, presented a report card of his tenure by comparing the promises made in the election manifesto to those achieved.
In the course of 4.5 years as the chief minister of Punjab, I have delivered more than 90 per cent of the promises made in the 2017 election manifesto, he said.
"They mock me regarding security measures. My basic training is that of a soldier. I have been in the service for 10 years - from my training period to the time I left the Army, so I know the basics," Amarinder added.

'Something is going wrong in Punjab'
Amarinder said that he is not an alarmist but he knows something is going wrong. It is for the government to sit down and bring facts before the people and not deny them.
"Our state has been a battlefield too many times and now we have to be careful of clandestine warfare. BSF has come to assist our police as they are doing in other states. BSF is not taking over anything in the state," he said.
Amarinder to meet Amit Shah tomorrow
Amarinder is leaving for Delhi and is scheduled to meet the Union home minister Amit Shah tomorrow.
"Tomorrow we are taking some people with us, around 25-30 people. We will be meeting Amit Shah on the issue of farmers. I can't say what will be the solution on the three farm laws, I have already given my view to him in previous meetings with him," he added.
'Will fight Sidhu, wherever he contests from'
Talking about Navjot Singh Sidhu, he said that we will fight him wherever he contests from.
Meanwhile, Navjot Singh Sidhu in his latest tweets lashed out at Amarinder Singh and said that the former Punjab CM sold the interests of the state to save his skin.

Last month, Amarinder faced an unceremonious exit from the state government as he resigned as the Punjab chief minister amid a bitter power tussle with Punjab Congress chief Sidhu.
Later, Congress replaced Amarinder with Charanjit Singh Channi.
