Attractive colours for PMPML city buses to attract commuters

PUNE: Very soon you will find Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited buses in attractive colours. The colour of the PMPML will be changed.
The Pune Municipal Corporation has decided to augment the services of PMPML and attract bus commuters. While currently, buses are coloured in red and white, citizens views will be considered while deciding the final colours. Civic officials said that three colour designs of the buses will be published very soon.Based on the views of citizens, a final design will be selected. Citizens can give a missed call on toll free number 7887810003 between October 5 to 12 to select the final design.
The design of buses plying in BRTS corridors will be different from buses plying in non-BRT corridors. PMPML is procuring 1500 new buses based on the directives of the Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corpoartions. The colours of all the buses will be changed in phases. Currently, there are about 1500 buses which ply on roads everyday.
Advertisements will not be painted on the exterior of the buses. Advertisements can be displayed on digital boards inside the bus, civic officials said. PMPML gets minimum revenue from advertisements on buses.
Meanwhile, buses will run on bio-CNG as a biogas plant is coming up in Talegaon.
