'Neerali': Five reasons to watch Mohanlal starrer

Mohanlal’s action thriller Neerali in which he showcases his new look is all set to hit the theatres on July 13. Directed by Ajoy Varma and written by Sajju Thomas, the film also brings back the iconic couple on-screen Mohanlal and Nadiya Moidu who enthralled us in Nokketha Doorathu Kannum Nattu, 34 years back. Mohanlal-Nadiya combo on screen after 34 years
Malayalis wouldn’t have forgotten the bubbly girl named Girly Mathew in Fasil’s classic movie Nokkatha Doorathe Kannun Nattu. She not only conquered the heart of her neighbour Sreekumar, an easy-going guy staying next door played by Mohanlal but also those of every Malayali movie buff.
It’s been 34 years since Nadiya Moidu made her acting debut with Nokketha Doorathu Kannum Nattu along with Mohanlal, and now life seems to have come a complete circle with the duo starring together in director Ajoy Varma’s upcoming movie Neerali. The film also marks a comeback of sorts for her in Mollywood. Well, will they manage to share the same chemistry on screen? Let’s wait and watch.
Mohanlal in youthful look
The 58-year-old Mohanlal who always had to face criticism for being on the heavier side is now looking quite youthful. Neerali will be the first film of the actor in his new look. The actor plays a fun loving guy named Sunny George in the film. The first look poster of the film with Mohanlal’s young look had garnered a lot of attention.
Trailer makes the movie feel like a cliffhanger
The trailer of was released on Mohanlal’s 58th birthday, i.e. May 21. The suspense filled trailer has already triggered curiosity among the audience. It seems like a nerve wracking suspense. The trailer shows the actor’s character Sunny George heading out on the road in a truck. He meets with an accident. Meanwhile, his pregnant wife, played by Nadiya, is admitted in a hospital elsewhere. A bloodied Sunny is trapped in his vehicle that is hanging off the edge of a cliff. Any attempt by Sunny to escape could lead to imminent death. Only the film can tell us what would happen next. Will Sunny manage to survive or will he never return? To know more, one more day to go…
Bollywood director Ajoy Varma’s debut
The director of Neerali, Ajoy Varma is an editor-turned-filmmaker. He is making his directorial debut in Malayalam cinema with this movie. Ajoy has earlier made Dus Tola, a Bollywood movie starring Manoj Bajpayee, that was the unofficial remake of the Malayalam movie Ponmutta Iduna Thaaravu. Will Ajoy’s Bollywood experience help him to create a suspense thriller on screen?
Interesting star cast
Apart from Mohanlal and Nadiya Moidu, actress Parvatii Nair too plays an important role in the film. Others in supporting roles include Suraj Venjaramoodu, Saikumar, Dileesh Pothan and Nassar. As per the trailer, there are some interesting sequences between actors Mohanlal and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Will all these impeccable actors come together and create a wonder?
