BENGALURU: Tata Trust and Meghshala trust, a Bengaluru based organization launched "Meghshala App" on Friday to enable teachers to be instructional leaders in the classroom. This app contains Teachkits that contextualize world class pedagogy into everyday classroom teaching. These lessons in app contain images, videos, activities, and strategies to convert the classroom into an active learning space.
“This app contains Teachkits which are multimedia lessons that are divided into two primary components- student slides and teacher instructions.
The student slides are what appear on the screen for the entire class. They include the necessary text, images, videos, and questions that students need to directly engage with. Currently, we have developed it for basic lessons of Maths, Science, English and social studies for class 1 to 8. We are also looking forward to equip teachers of government school with this so that they can learn better ways to teach,” said Jyothi Thyagrajan, head of Meghshala trust.
However, there are also additional teacher instruction (TIs) slides that are visible only to teachers, which will provide the detailed support to implement the lesson.
Meghshala Trust began their journey in August 2014 with the vision of empowering a 100,000 teachers by upskilling them to become instructional leaders in their classrooms. Keeping the idea of quality, scale and access at the center, Meghshala began creating their Flagship product – ‘Teachkits’ which are high-quality curriculum-aligned teaching resources that can supercharge the teaching potential of teachers. Now these teachkits are available in this app.
MeghConnect is available in app, a peer to peer community of teachers to share best practices.
