KOLKATA: The Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation has started work on setting up the ‘Banglar Mishti Hub’ project at New Town. Hidco officials started off work with coconut breaking.
Officials said that the site is at the two-wheeler parking near Gate 4 of Eco Park. “There will be ten shops that will have branded sweets. There would also be space for ethnic well known geo-tagged speciality sweets of different districts like Saktigarh’s Langcha, Burdwan’s Sitabhog-Mihidana, Behrampore’s Chhanabora and so on.

The idea is to come up with outlets that will remain open 24 hours for tourists, specially keeping in mind of foreigners to carry the famous traditional Bengali sweets for their family and friends while going their way out of Kolkata through the Airport. The project is expected to be completed by pujas this year, officials said.
