CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s residence to turn into hospital, promises TDP

HYDERABAD: Loan waiver for farmers, free cycles for girl students, laptops for students, unemployment allowance for jobless, job calendar and ITIR for Hyderabad are some of the key highlights of TTDP’s manifesto for the Assembly elections. The 31-page manifesto, released by TTDP president L Ramana at NTR Trust Bhavan on Wednesday, promises to convert Pragati Bhavan, the official residence of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, into a hospital for the poor.

The TTDP promises to bring pressure on the alliance government to provide one lakh jobs in the first year with the creation of an employment calendar every year. It also promised loan waiver up to Rs 2 two lakh to farmers, including tenant farmers, along with free uninterrupted power to agriculture.

A mega DSC would be created to generate 20,000 jobs, it said. TTDP also promised unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 to youth every month. TTDP election manifesto committee convenor Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy said though they were contesting 13 seats the manifesto was the policy document of their party. The committee looked at various sections of society and drafted the manifesto accordingly. The party promises to provide free laptops for students, from Intermediate to university-level. “ITIR will be set up in Hyderabad and an additional Rs 5,000 crore will be given to improve infrastructure and academic conditions in schools,” the document said. TTDP said it would provide reservation for physically challenged in government jobs. It also promised an additional Rs 5,000 crore for improvement of medical and health facilities in the state and turn Pragati Bhavan into a hospital with all facilities for the poor.

Anna canteens, named after TDP founder president the late NTR, would be set up across the state on the lines of the ones in Andhra Pradesh. NTR’s popular Rs 2/kg rice scheme would be implemented with minor changes and each member of a BPL family would be given seven kgs at Re 1 per kg. TTDP also promised to exert pressure on the Union government to implement promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. Residences of chief minister, ministers and other offices would be created on permanent basis.
Government employees would be given pension like in the past, while kin of Telangana martyrs would be given Rs 10 lakh, a house and a government job.


It also promised construction of a befitting memorial for the martyrs. For women, empowerment programmes would be implemented.


Belt shops would be shut down, it said. Welfare activities for the forward castes would be taken up.
