While some techies took an off from work, some quickly stepped out of their tech parks and joined in shouting slogans and voicing their discontent towards BBMP.
BENGALURU: Amidst traffic and dusty broken lanes, more than 5,000 residents from in and around Whitefield took time out of their work and tight schedule to protest against common problems that they are all victims of - that is bad roads, constant traffic and horrible potholes.
While some techies took an off from work, some quickly stepped out of their tech parks and joined in shouting slogans and voicing their discontent towards BBMP for collecting the highest taxes from them and not fulfilling their basic needs of infrastructure.

Ashok D who was a part of the protest said, "I am an asthma patient, working in Whitefield has not only aggravated it but has added a terrible back pain that I suffer from because of my daily bumpy commuting. And I know I am not suffering alone."
The final meeting point of the protest was at ITPL where thousands of people gathered including children and senior citizens passing on a strong message to the BBMP that they meant serious business and the deadline of 31st December to fix major roads of Whitefield has to be met with.
