NEW DELHI:
Delhi government on Monday submitted the
notification of 351 roads for
mixed land use in the
Supreme Court to provide relief to
traders with
commercial establishments located on these roads from the threat of
sealing. The government needs the approval of the SC to issue the notification.
“We have submitted the matter to the SC and hope that we will get the approval, said urban development minister Satyendar Jain.
Over the years several commercial establishments have come up on these roads.
The shops face the threat of sealing because these roads have not been declared permissible for mixed land use.
After the roads are notified, the traders will have to submit conversation charges to the civic bodies to get commercial status for their establishments. Traders running their shops without paying conversation charges to the civic bodies would still face the threat of sealing.
