Zuari bridge work on road to continue

Zuari bridge work on road to continue
Panaji: Construction work of the new Zuari bridge on the highway will continue as traffic woes on the stretch have been sorted out. On Saturday, a three-hour traffic jam at Cortalim had left over 100 flyers stranded.
On Sunday, officials from the chief minister’s office and the traffic cell met officials of the construction firm, Dilip Buildcon, and discussed various measures to ease traffic flow on the highway from Bambolim to Verna.

Dilip Buildcon also clarified that it did not receive any instructions from the chief minister’s office or other government officials to keep work on the highway on hold until early January.
Top government officials said the chief minister himself was monitoring the traffic situation on the stretch and had asked officials for a periodic update. The officials said the chief minister would soon hold another review meeting with the traffic police officers for the smooth flow of traffic on that stretch.
