Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Sunday condoled the death of
AIADMK's
Puducherry secretary and former MLA,
P Purushothaman.
A two-time MLA, Purushothaman owned farmlands in Tamil Nadu and used to regularly visit the place to oversee agricultural activities. On Saturday, while at his farm, he took shelter under a tree, when it rained. He was stung by wasps, which were disturbed by the sudden rain.
Purushothaman, who fainted, was rushed to Mundiyampakkam Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Palaniswami visited Mundiyampakkam Medical College Hospital in
Villupuram district and placed a wreath on the body of Purushothaman.
"Purushothaman was a tireless worker, and he kept the AIADMK cadre engaged with his leadership skills as the secretary of the party's Puducherry unit. His sudden death is an irreparable loss to the party," Palaniswami told reporters after paying homage to the departed soul.
