KOCHI:
Actor Anil Nedumangad known for his roles in Ayyappanum Koshiyum,
Kammattippadam,
Porinchu Mariyam Jose and Pavada drowned in the reservoir of
Malankara dam on Friday evening. He was 48.
According to officials, the incident occurred at around 5.30pm. He had stepped into the Malankara reservoir to take a bath along with friends. The body was recovered after a search of nearly 30 minutes. The body was shifted to
Thodupuzha district hospital mortuary for autopsy.
The actor and team had reached Thodupuzha for the shoot of the film with Joju George as lead.
Anil Nedumangad had worked as a television presenter and producer before entering the film industry. His first film was
Njan Steve Lopez directed by
Rajesh Ravi. His performance in Ayyappanum Koshiyum as a police officer had received wide acclaim. His last film was Papam Cheyyathavar Kalleriatte released in February.
Early on Friday Anil had put up a Facebook post paying tribute to director Sachi alias KR Sachidandan who died in June this year. Friday was Sachi's birthday.
