JAIPUR: Days after being inducted as a minister, Rajendra Singh Gudha promised roads as smooth as the cheeks of actors Hema Malini and Katrina Kaif.
The remark was allegedly made by the minister of state for panchayati raj and rural development on Tuesday at a local function held in a village in his home district of Jhunjhunu.

Gehlot's minister makes sexist remarks, says roads to be made smooth like Katrina Kaif's cheeks

Initially, the minister told an officer that the roads should be constructed as smooth as Hema Malini's cheeks.
Then he realised that Hema Malini had become old now. When he asked the public which actor was making waves these days, people shouted the name of Katrina Kaif. The minister made the comparison after he was told about the bad condition of roads in the district by people gathered to listen to him there.
He then went on to say roads should be like ‘Katrina Kaif's cheeks.’ “Katrina Kaif Ka Gaalan Jaayan ki Sadak Banni Chayej,” he said on mic sitting in the camp.
The comments were made at the Prashasan Shahron ke Sang camp.
An officer of the public works department was also present in the camp.
The minister could not be contacted for comments. Gudha is among 15 ministers who took oath on Sunday. He is one of the four newly inducted ministers of state.

He represents Udaipurwati constituency of Jhunjhunu and was elected on a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket. Gudha was one of the six BSP MLAs who quit the party and joined the Congress.
Gudha had caught controversy earlier also when he alleged that the BSP sells party tickets to the highest bidder. “The party ticket gets auctioned to the highest bidder,” he said.
He made the statement during a conference organised by the Rajasthan chapter of Commonwealth Parliamentary Union held in the assembly in 2019.
