The 2017 list also mentions two people of Indian origin - Dial Sharma and Nisha Kotecha.
85-year-old Dial Sharma has been helping the Asian community in North London in reducing isolation and helping them integrate better with the society for the last 50 years.
He organises trips and get-togethers for the community as well as help with taxes, billing, spoken English, housing, and immigrations issues. Dial recently helped Asian women in gaining more independence by attending coffee mornings.
Nisha Kotecha founded a website aimed at celebrating positive stories, three years ago. Kotecha has been volunteering for various charities since last ten years. She created 'The Moments Journal' last year - a positivity log to help people see and appreciate the good things - big or small - from their day.
