CM hands over Abua Awas Yojana approval letters to 25k beneficiaries
Dumka: Continuing his ante against the BJP, chief minister Champai Soren on Monday accused the saffron camp of attempting to stall the development work initiated by his predecessor Hemant Soren, who was arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in land scam case last month. The JMM-Congress-RJD led coalition govt, however, continued to sustain after Champai is named as his successor by Hemant.
Addressing a gathering in Dumka during a govt function, Champai said the coalition govt under Hemant managed to perform despite hurdles created by BJP for four years and remaining one year of this govt too will be a smooth sailing.

Tuesday’s function was to distribute approval letters to beneficiaries of the state’s flagship housing scheme — Abua Awas Yojana. As many as 25,385 beneficiaries from Dumka, Deoghar and Jamtara districts were selected for the scheme for the financial year 2023-24 with the target of providing 20 lakh houses to people by 2027.
The CM said, “It was because of the vision of Hemant Soren, our govt managed to roll out series of developmental and welfare schemes for uplift of the downtrodden within a short span of time. However, BJP got him implicated him by misusing central agencies.”
He also blamed the BJP-led central govt for withholding its central share of PM housing scheme. He said, “The Central govt has been giving us step-brotherly treatment which is why Hemant Soren decided to introduce state’s own housing scheme for our people.”
He added, “I have come here to explain you that the BJP, which failed to defeat Hemant Ji politically, hatched the conspiracy to put him behind the bars to stop the development work."

He also hailed the Sarkar Aapke Dwar initiated by the Hemant regime, calling it an exemplary work to take governance to people’s doorstep.
The event was also graced by minister Satyanand Bhokta, JMM MP from Rajmhahal Vijay Hasda and MLAs of the ruling coalition including Stephen Marandi, Nalin Soren, Sita Soren, Basant Soren, Dinesh William Marandi and others.
