‘Sasural Simar Ka’ and ‘Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi’ actor Ashiesh Roy, who had been unwell for the past several months, breathed his last at his home early this morning. His friend, actor Amit Behl and Senior Joint Secretary, CINTAA said, “Ashiesh and I knew each other since 1992. We worked with each other since then. We used to do theatre and travel together for so many years. We did five shows and many plays.
All our friends used to call him Bond.”
Commenting on Roy’s multiple health issues, an emotional Amit said, “I was concerned about him because of his health issues. He was facing financial problems, so CINTAA and a few other friends had helped him financially, but unfortunately, his health did not improve. He was single and living alone, and due to his health issues in the past few months, he had lost the will to live. I am extremely sad and affected by his death because I lost a dear friend. He had one sister, who is flying down from Kolkata today for his last rites.”
Amid the lockdown in May this year, Roy had been admitted to the ICU after his health deteriorated. He had taken to his Facebook account to share the grim news and requested for financial assistance from his well-wishers through the platform.
