Nashik-Pune flights likely from December 15

NASHIK: Deccan Charters Pvt Ltd is likely to launch commercial flight operations connecting Nashik with Mumbai and Pune beginning December 15. Later, other cities like Kolhapur, Solapur and Jalgaon would get connected to Mumbai in a phase-wise manner, according to an official of the civil aviation ministry.
A top functionary of Deccan Charters confirmed to TOI that the company is working out the modalities to launch flight operations from Nashik.
“We cannot disclose at this juncture when we will start the operations, but we are planning to start the same as soon as possible.” In a communication to city MP Hemant Godse on Monday, the joint secretary of the civil aviation ministry, Usha Padhee, said issues related to night parking and allotment of slots at the Mumbai airport have been resolved. Padhee said there was a meeting of all stakeholders, including Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd, Airports Authority of India and Deccan Charters on October 10.
