NEW DELHI: Indian hockey's search for lost glory resumes on Wednesday when the 14th edition of the FIH Men's Hockey World Cup begins in the Odisha capital of Bhubaneswar.
India's only World Cup win came way back in 1975. Since then, India have never managed to reach the semifinals of the tournament. Hosting the World Cup for the third time after 1982 (Bombay) and 2010 (Delhi), the team will hope to improve on the fifth-place finish it achieved in 1982 and finish on the podium to end the country's 43-year wait of a medal.
