KOCHI: Condolences poured in from all quarters on the death of actor-filmmaker Pratap Pothen. Actor Mohanlal said that Pothen was a blessed artist who proved his talent in acting, screenplay, direction and production. Mohanlal said he had years of friendship and intimacy with Pothen.
“Condolences! Dear friend Pratap Pothen”, wrote Mamootty in his social media handles.
“Rest in peace uncle! I will miss you. #PrathapPothen.” wrote actor Prithviraj.
“I will always remember you for your innocent smile, twinkling eyes, and kind words. When we said good bye last week, I never thought that it would be the last,” said actor Nivin Pauly’s condolence message. Suresh Gopi , Manju Warrier and Kunhcako Boban also condoled his death.
Actress Khusbhu twetted, “So disheartened. Heartbreaking. Lost a very good friend,a wonderful human being, a great technician n actor n funniest guy ever, #PratapPothen this morning...You will be missed terribly.#RIP.”
Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, “We have lost a talent who won a place in people’s hearts with his simple and different acting. Pratap has travelled along with the changing mood of Malayalam cinema. The unique roles in films, including Thakara, is an experience that is passed down from generation to generation.” The CM also observed that Pothen had been noted for expressing clear opinions on political and social issues.
