KOTA: Creating a bizarre scene, an advocate in Kota, on finding unavailability of wheelchair for his minor son with fracture in one leg, ventured to take his electric scooter to the orthopedic ward on 3rd floor through lift in division’s largest MBS hospital in the city on Thursday noon.
However, the ward in charge, stopped him while he was returning from the ward and took out the key of his scooter following which the advocate created ruckus lodging his protest against mismanagement and unavailability of wheel chairs at the hospital.

On absence of complaint, the police did not lodge any report and the matter was later resolved through negotiation and convincing both the parties. An unusual scene appeared at the OPD of MBS hospital at around 1.30pm on Thursday when a black coat clad man, who identified himself as Manoj Jain, an advocate was seen moving to the lift with his electric scooty. He even entered the lift with his scooty and reached the orthopedic ward on 3rd floor to take his son with plaster in one of his legs. Everyone in the ward was left stunned to see the advocate with scooty in the ward.

While the advocate was coming back with his son on the back seat of his scooty, ward in-charge Devkinand stopped him and took out the key of the scooty following which the advocate allegedly created ruckus with others in the ward asserting they would also take their vehicles into the hospital and the ward through lift.
On information of the ruckus, the hospital check post police also rushed to the spot and convinced the advocate and the hospital staff.

Advocate Jain claimed he had earlier asked for the wheel chair from hospital staff Mukesh and Sukhlal for his son with fracture in one of his legs but the staff responded unavailability of the wheelchair following which he sought them permission to take his electric scooter to the ward to which the staff nodded. The advocate claimed he did not do any wrong and he was bound to take his electric scooter as there was no wheelchair and held hospital management responsible for mismanagement and disarrangements in the hospital.
Meanwhile, in charge of New OPD at MBS, Devkinandan said it was his duty of stop the advocate and take out the key as it was against the rules and admitted shortage of wheelchair for around 3000 patients visiting the New OPD daily but assured adequate number of wheelchair would be arranged soon.
