Niruttara is not a regular boy-meets-girl story
The Kannada film Niruttara has been creating the right buzz since its inception ' be it with regard to its cast, director, music composer, or cinematographer, among others, and audiences have been eagerly awaiting its release. This despite the fact that the film, which hits theatres today, marks many firsts for the team. For starters, Niruttara is actress Bhavana's first production under her banner Home Town Productions that she's made in association with Sudhakar Gande of Lexicon Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd.
It has been directed by a debutant, Apurva Kasaravalli, whose surname has viewers intrigued enough to see what brand of cinema he brings to the table. 'There are many other highlights,' says Bhavana, adding, 'Renowned Hindustani musician Niladri Kumar has composed music, which makes it his first Kannada movie. Oscar-winner sound designer Resul Pookutty and actor Rahul Bose also make it their first Kannada film. Also notable is cinematography by HM Ramachandra, whose visuals have added punch to the narrative.'
The film, which stars Bhavana, Rahul, Kiran Srinivas and Aindrita Ray in main roles, is an exploration of relationships from their perspectives. 'Niruttara is not a regular boy-meets-girl story, in which they meet, sing songs and live happily ever after. But life is not like that, and has its fair share of ups and downs. So the film delves into multiple facets of relationships. For instance, we have a husband and wife, but far from just looking at them as a married couple, the film also explores their equation as friends and partners. When it comes to friendships, we have looked at the testing times friends face and how they come out of it. All of this transpires through the lives of our protagonists and how their lives intertwine,' explains Apurva.
