Renowned sports journalist and commentator Kishore Bhimani passes away

Noted former journalist and cricket commentator Kishore Bhimani passed away on Thursday. He was 80 and died while fighting the complications that developed after he tested positive for Covid-19 last month. One of the most recognizable cricket voices, Bhimani was also famously in the commentary box during the historic tied Test between India and Australia in Chennai in 1986.

Noted former journalist and cricket commentator Kishore Bhimani passed away on Thursday. He was 80. According to reports, he died while fighting the complications that developed after he tested positive for Covid-19 last month and was admitted to a hospital.
One of the most recognizable cricket voices in the country before the turn of the century, Bhimani was also famously in the commentary box during the historic tied Test between India and Australia in Chennai in 1986.

He was honoured with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' at the 2012 H&G Clinic Journalism awards for his unmatched contribution to the media industry and sports commentary.
The unfortunate news saw an outpouring of condolence messages and tributes from the cricket and media fraternity.
Cricket legends like Bishan Singh Bedi expressed their grief.
"RIP Kishore Bhimani..he was one of the good Old Fashioned Crkt writer who took Crkt writings like a player who takes to playing...Condolences to his Spouse Rita & Son Gautam.. GodBless All Always.. Fondly," Bedi tweeted.
