VIJAYAWADA: The officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) allegedly seized 970 grams of gold from a woman who landed at Gannavaram airport from
Dubai on Thursday night. A special team of customs officials from Hyderabad are investigating the case. According to the sources, the officials of DRI had prior information about the woman with gold following which a special team from Hyderabad came to Gannavaram airport.
Officials caught the woman at the arrival block and on search, they found 970 grams of gold in her possession. It is alleged that that woman who is under the custody of customs is the wife of a retired IAS officer in AP.
