Ore Jeevan to feature in Neeya 2

Mention Neeya?, and the first thing that comes to our mind is the haunting melody, Ore Jeevan. Picturised primarily on Sripriya, the number set the tone for the snake-horror film that released in 1979. Now, after almost four decades, audiences can relish the song, probably in a new avatar, in L Suresh’s directorial Neeya 2. The makers of the Jai-Raai Laxmi-Varalaxmi-Catherine Tresa-starrer have bought the rights of Ore Jeevan and will be using it in the film.
A source in the know confirms, “Ore Jeevan was composed by Sankar-Ganesh and had two versions, sung by Vani Jairam and SP Balasubramaniam, respectively.The makers of Neeya 2 thought it would be apt to feature the song in this film as well. Though the storyline is completely different, the song fits the situation well. They have bought the rights of the song recently, and will most likely be picturising it on Raai Laxmi’s character. However, the team, including music composer Shabir, are yet to decide if the song will be used as is, or given a makeover.”
The team is presently shooting in Kodaikanal, and with this schedule, majority of the talkie portion will be complete.
