UP: Vikas Dubey's close aide shot dead in police encounter in Hamirpur

Amar Dubey, the right-hand man of wanted gangster Vikas Dubey was shot dead in an encounter in Hamirpur early morning on Wednesday by a team of Special Task Force (STF) and Hamirpur police.

LUCKNOW: Amar Dubey, the right-hand man of wanted gangster Vikas Dubey was shot dead in an encounter in Hamirpur early morning on Wednesday by a team of Special Task Force (STF) and Hamirpur police.
Amar was trying to escape to Madhya Pradesh when he was intercepted by the STF.
"He gave up the idea of sneaking into MP following extensive checking on the borders. He was then heading towards the house of his relative in Maudaha area of Hamirpur when he was intercepted by the STF.
Police have recovered an automatic firearm from his possession and a bag. Forensic experts are on their way to the encounter site," sources in STF said.
Two policemen also suffered gunshot wounds in the encounter.

Additional director general of police (ADG) law and order Prashant Kumar told TOI that Amar Dubey was a named accused of the recent attack on cops in Kanpur in which 8 policemen were killed. Police had announced a cash reward of Rs 25,000 on his head in connection with the Kanpur incident. Investigators are collecting details of his involvement in criminal cases in the past.
The breakthrough came when one of the STF teams tracking leads on Vikas Dubey and his gang members managed to intercept Amar Dubey in Maudaha area of Hamirpur a little after daybreak, said ADG law and order Prashant Kumar. He said Amar Dubey was seen as the right hand man of Vikas Dubey by the locals in Kanpur.

The STF team immediately sought help from the district police after which the area was sealed and an extensive search operation was launched. Cops were looking for the suspect when he fired at the police team. In the retaliatory firing from the police one person was killed who was later identified as Amar Dubey.
Reports said Amar Dubey was present at Vikas Dubey’s house on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday and actively participated in the attack on the cops. Vikas Dubey and his men have been on the run since the attack on cops in which a deputy superintendent of police and 7 other policemen were killed.

Dubey, who was killed in a pre-dawn encounter with police in Hamirpur, was on top of the poster released by Kanpur police on Tuesday. The city police had on Tuesday released a poster of most wanted henchmen of gangster- Vikas Dubey, with their photos and bounties on each, and sought information that would lead to their capture.

The list begins with Amar Dubey, whose name figures in the FIR on 14th number, then Vishnu Pal Singh, Shiv Tiwari, Ram Naresh Nagar, Manoj, Santosh Kumar, Guddan Dwivedi, Ranveer, Lala Ram, Ajit Kumar, Indrajeet, Luttan and Dharmendra Singh, who carry rewards of Rs 25,000 each.
The bounty on their elusive kingpin - Vikas Dubey has been increased to Rs 2.5 lakh.
"These are anti-social elements need to be identified and marked out so that the terror of gangster can be uprooted. Hence, this profile of 'most wanted' has been prepared and released," IG Range Mohit Agarwal said.
The poster appeals to people to pass on information to police. "Help police in freeing society from anti-social elements' terror," it says. The phone numbers of officials are mentioned for people to contact.
