Edtech startup Skill-Lync raises $17.5 million
CHENNAI: Engineering education focused startup Skill-Lync has raised $17.5 million in a Series A round, led by venture investor Iron Pillar. Existing investors Y Combinator and Better Capital also participated in this funding round. In addition, Binny Bansal (co-founder of Flipkart), Sai Krishnamurthy (co-founder of Xto10X) and Rashmi Kwatra (founder of Sixteenth Street Capital) also joined as new investors.

With this round, Skill Lync has raised a total of $20 million across Seed and Series A funding. The capital will be used for increasing the number of courses offered by Skill-Lync, build its management team and expand the business to international markets. The startup will also double down on developing corporate partnerships to understand future talent requirements and build a high-end engineering team.
Skill-Lync provides industry-relevant courses in mechanical, electrical, civil and computer science engineering domains for students in India and other parts of the world. The platform claims it has the highest course completion rates in certain course categories.
The startup has collaborated with 800+ industry experts for creating their existing course content and has full-time people with extensive experience in industry (with the likes of Bosch, Cummins, ABB, Samsung and Accenture etc.) to help provide a quality learning experience.
