She was the epitome of compassion who defined the very essence of honesty and equanimity. I had known her since 2001 when I first met her in Mumbai on an emergency call to discuss a crucial issue. The matter was soon resolved, paving a journey of trust and affection. Since then, she treated me as a guide and well-wisher. Steeped in spirituality, she had a holistic approach to business that blended finance with human growth, creating a new paradigm in philanthropy. She wove the thread of empathy in her work that formed the human fabric of her organisation.

She was passionate about pursuing her core belief of bringing learned people on a platform to create a team with zeal and energy. She would often say that transparency in public life and complete literacy could create a renaissance in every layer of society. Should often speak out against the “feudal mindset” entrenched in our society.

The divine radiance in her face didn’t diminish with age, rather it took on a sublime glow in her last journey from this world to the next. And as she rightly wrote before her departure — The other side beckons … I can’t wait to explore it.
