‘Sunny Leone’ tops Bihar junior engineer exam

PATNA: In a bizarre prank on the online system, job applications were made for the junior engineer posts in Bihar Public Health Engineering Department in the names of Bollywood actor Sunny Leone and ‘bvcxzbnnb’.
The system identified only the details entered in the application forms and declared ‘Sunny Leone’ as the draft merit list topper with 98.5 points — 73.5 points in academics and 25 points in work experience.
Her father’s name mentioned in the application is Leona Leone. Her application ID is JEC/0031211 and user ID is 2AVRCWCT.

After the draft list was out, Sunny tweeted: “HAHA, Im so glad the OTHER me has scored so well !!!!! lol...”
PHED officials claimed that the draft merit list was system-generated, based on preliminary assessment of online applications submitted by candidates. A final list would be prepared upon submission of documents and interviews, they added. PHED released the draft list on February 15 for the applicants to do corrections, if any, by February 24 before document verification and interview for which dates have not been announced yet.

Apart from Sunny, the third topper is named as ‘bvcxzbnnb’, who has got 92.89 points. The department has, however, distanced itself from the controversy by putting the blame on the applicants.
PHED minister Vinod Narayan Jha said the department would examine the genuineness of candidates as they would have to submit all required documents for verification before interview. PHED joint secretary Ashok Kumar told TOI on Wednesday, “Candidates who applied for the post have been given time to make corrections in their applications and submit original documents offline. The department will release the final merit list only after verifying the applicants.”
Kumar said the department would take stern action against bogus candidates. The applications were submitted online between January 15 and 31. Kumar said 17,000 candidates had applied for 214 posts on PHED website. “The system has selected the candidates with better scores in academics and work experience on the basis of entries made in their applications. The draft merit list was based on 75% weightage to academic performance and 25% to work experience,” he said.
