Mantralaya ruckus to be probed: CM

MUMBAI: CM Devendra Fadnavis has announced an inquiry into Thursday’s altercation between a farmer and the Mantralaya police.
In a statement in the assembly on Friday, he said the farmer, Rameshwar Bhusare, was not beaten by the police but was injured when he tried to bite a policeman.
Fadnavis said Bhusare’s polyshed was destroyed in the April 2015 hailstorm. He had claimed compensation from the revenue department but was told it was only for crop loss.The revenue department tried to help him obtain a loan to rebuild his polyshed but he refused it, saying he was asked for a 25% down payment that he did not have.
