CM likely to announce the decision regarding the lockdown after April 14, the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar
The official further added that the state cabinet meeting is likely to be scheduled on Wednesday.
The meeting in this regard will be held in the next two days, said an official.
CM Uddhav Thackeray will have discussions with the Finance and other departments to get an idea about relief package for poor workers who will be impacted due to complete lockdown
“CM Thackeray will discuss the lockdown issue with the state cabinet before announcement of complete lockdown,” said Rajesh Tope, public health minister
The weekend lockdown will end on Monday morning in Maharashtra. However lockdown-like restrictions will continue which means shops of non-essential goods will shut but people can move out to take home service from restaurants.
The curbs which were put in last Monday will be in place from tomorrow. Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had a meeting with Covid task force members and discussed imposing complete lockdown. However the decision was not taken.
