Notice to 61 schools for poor JAC matric results

Bokaro: Deputy commissioner Jadhav Vijaya Narayan Rao issued show cause notices to 61 schools after their dismal performance in the Jharkhand Academic Council's Class 10 board exams, the results of which were released on April 19.
The overall pass rate fell by approximately seven per cent, from 95.48 per cent last year to 88.03 per cent this year. The principals were given 24 hours (by Monday) to respond to the show cause notices or risk having salaries withheld. The DC's letter cited reasons for the decline, such as insufficient focus on practice exams, inadequate identification of struggling students, and the absence of remedial classes. To address the issues, the DC requested a list of subject-wise students who failed from schools to aid in supplementary examination preparations.
