JALANDHAR: Taking a dig at the farmers agitating across Punjab against the agri-marketing bills that were passed in Rajya Sabha on Sunday, actor Kangana Ranaut in her tweet in the evening described the protesters as “the same terrorists who indulged in bloodshed even as no citizen lost citizenship due to CAA” as she quoted a tweet by Prime Minster Narendra Modi and also addressed him.

After the bills were passed in Rajya Sabha, the PM posted four tweets in English, Hindi and Punjabi to reassure the farmers. As strongest protests are coming from Punjab, and BJP’s alliance partner Shiromani Akali Dal has even walked out of the Union cabinet over the issue, Modi made it a point to tweet in Punjabi too.

Kangana picked up one of the PM’s Hindi tweets which reassured the farmers on MSP, “I said it earlier and I say it once again: System of MSP will remain. Government procurement will continue. We are here to serve our farmers. We will do everything possible to support them and ensure a better life for their coming generations.”
Kangana quoted this tweet in reply to the PM, saying “Pradhan Mantri ji koee so raha ho use jagaya ja sakta hai, jise galatfehmi ho use samjhaya ja sakta hai, magar jo sone ki acting kare use aapke samjhaane ke kaya faraq padega? Ye wahin aantaki hein CAA se ek bhi insaan ki citizenship nahi gaee magr unhone khoon ki nadiyan bha dee. (sic)” (Prime Minister Ji if someone is sleeping they can be woken up, someone’s wrong impression can be changed by explaining but how can you make a difference to somebody who is pretending to sleep? These are the same terrorists who indulged in bloodshed even as no citizen lost citizenship due to CAA.)”
