Notable Marathi filmmaker Sumitra Bhave passed away yesterday (April 19), and her sudden demise left the entire Marathi industry in utter shock. Many actors, who got featured in her films, mourned her demise, and Swarajya Janani Jijamata actress Smita Shewale is one of them.

Smita recently recalled fond memories with the national award winning filmmaker on social media. Smita also shared a few things that Sumitra taught her in life.
Smita wrote, "In 2006, I had the opportunity to work with Sumitra Mavshi, she told me one thing for sure that nothing is impossible if you decided to. But for that, you have to find a way to get it..Searching resources is necessary..If you know the technique of how to search, you can do anything..and you have to work hard, there is no option..Sumitra mavshi gave me the confidence to work in this field..You will be always missed..Tribute"
Actors from the Marathi industry are paying tribute to Sumitra Bhave on social media and sharing their memories with her.
Actress Neena Kulkarni, who also got the opportunity to work with her in her films, shared her memories with Sumitra on Monday. Neena wrote a lengthy note on Instagram and paid her tribute to the veteran filmmaker.
Talking about Sumitra Bhave, she has helmed several hit films, which received several accolades. She along with her co-director Sunil Sukhtankar have directed popular films namely Doghi, Dahavi Fa, Vastupurush, Devrai, Badha, Ek Cup Chya, Samhita, Astu, Kaasav, to name a few.
Sumitra and Sunil later won a national award for their film Kaasav at the 64th National Film Awards. It became the fifth Marathi film to succeed in this category. She has also even won the Best Film Award for Astu at New York Indian Film Festival.
