Suresh Amonkar cremated at his native place, Amona

Bicholim: The final rites on former Sakhali MLA Dr Suresh Amonkar who died of Covid-19 infection at the ESI-covid hospital Margao on Monday were performed at his native place Amona in Bicholim taluka on Tuesday in a mourning atmosphere.
The body was consigned to flames by his daughter Yuti Amonkar.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Ayush Minister Shripad Naik, Sarpanchas and panch members of different village panchayats, councillors of Sakhali Municipal council, former Sakhali sarpanch and Dr.Amonkar's close friend Praveen Blaggan, relatives and locals were present in limited numbers.
Ayush minister Shripad Naik said Amonkar was an ideal leader with a humble disposition and social relations.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said that Dr. Amonkar had made a great contribution to Goa and as a minister he had implemented many schemes and was known as an ideal politician and social worker as well as a doctor.
