Techie thrashed his wife for not giving a banana

HYDERABAD: A software engineer thrashed his wife black and blue at their house in Miyapur after she refused to bring him a banana. After the incident, the victim was hospitalised and her family members lodged a complaint against the techie on Wednesday.
The victim is, Pushpa Sree of Vijayawada and five years ago she was married to Brahmeswar Rao, a software engineer working for an Indian MNC.After the wedding, the couple moved into a house in New Colony, Miyapur.
According to Miyapur police, the marital relationship strained as they do not have children. “Bramheswar Rao started harassing his wife for petty reasons as he was unhappy about not being able to have children,” Miyapur ACP S Ravi Kumar said.
On Tuesday evening, Brahmeswara Rao asked Pushpa Sree to bring him a banana. Busy with some other work, Pushpa Sree ignored his request and Rao hit her black and blue. Due to the assault the victim became unconscious and after regaining her senses, she alerted the family members.
“After admitting the victim at a local hospital for treatment, her parents lodged a complaint with us. We have registered a case against Rao under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 498-A (subjecting married woman to cruelty) of the IPC. Rao is absconding,” the ACP said.
