PANAJI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off Goa’s first Vande Bharat Express train from Madgaon railway station on Saturday at 10.30 via video conferencing. The train will be the 19th Vande Bharat Express in the country.
Running between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Goa’s Madgaon station, the train offers superior comfort and convenience for passengers.

It comes with superior amenities such as onboard wi-fi infotainment, GPS-based passenger information system, plush interiors, bio-vacuum toilets, diffused LED lighting, charging points beneath every seat, individual touch-based reading lights and concealed roller blinds. To enable communication between passengers and the crew, it has a ‘Modern Mini Pantry’ and ‘Emergency Talk-Back’ unit.
A senior officer said that the train has better heat ventilation and air-conditioning system with UV lamps for germ-free supply of air. The intelligent air-conditioning system adjusts the cooling according to the climate conditions as well as the occupancy.
The Vande Bharat Express will boost tourism in the state with faster connectivity for those visiting the Konkan region, world heritage sites and tourist centres of Goa.
