Light and sound show set to depict the life of Guru Nanak

Lucknow: A team of artists from Punjab will feature in animation, live performances and music to tell the story of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, at a light and sound show on Saturday.

Capturing Nanak’s life journey, from his birth in 1469 to his death in 1539, the show will begin from 7pm at Amarpreet Lawn (Krishnanagar). The event is being organised by Lucknow Gurdwara Management Committee (LGMC) to mark the 125th anniversary of Gurdwara Naka Hindola and 25th anniversary of LGMC.

Rajendra Singh Bagga, president of Gurdwara Naka Hindola, said Guru Nanak Dev destroyed the darkness of ignorance and incarnated the light of spiritual knowledge in the entire world. “The show also commemorates the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev which will be celebrated on November 27,” he added.

Sardar Harpal Singh Jaggi, general secretary, LGMC, said Guru Nanak is known for bringing a renaissance in the 15th century and freeing society from casteism. “LGMC will also hold a grand celebration of Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary on Sunday at DAV College,” said spokesperson Satpal Singh Meet.
