Chennai records heavy rains overnight; IMD warns more rainfall

Incessant rains in Chennai saw water entered several homes and shops in the low-lying areas. Power cuts have been reported in several places in Chennai, including Mandaveli and Royapettah. Keeping in mind the heavy rains, most corporate companies have given staff permission to work from home. According to Chennai DGP office maximum rainfall of 30cm has been recorded on Thursday. IMD has also warned more rains in next few days due to low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.
